Heal For Life provides a number of trauma informed training opportunities and can also customise and deliver programs anywhere in Australia upon request. Training can be delivered onsite at your preferred location (anywhere in Australia)

- our centre in the Hunter Valley (Quorrobolong). A range of accommodation is also available if you would like to stay on site
We are unique because we have been using trauma informed principles in our work for nearly twenty years. The training we provide is very practical and includes skills which can be easily transferred to any workplace. Programs include
- Trauma Informed Practice TIP Training
- Trauma Informed Healing (TIH) Training for Health Professionals
- Heal for Life Peer Support Training (required to volunteer to be part of a healing week)
Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) Training
This is our most popular program and can be tailored from 2 hours to 2 full days to meet the needs of your organisation. We also offer specially customised workshops for Health Professionals and Schools. The Trauma Informed Practice training is a foundation for our Trauma Informed Healing program.
Some of the organisations we have trained in Trauma Informed Practice are: Wesley Mission, Youth Workers Sydney and Newcastle; Salvation Army Oases Sydney. Catholic Care, Katherine N.T. Headspace South West Victoria, Community Centre Muswellbrook and Bloomfield Hospital Orange.
Trauma Informed Healing (TIH) Training For Health Professionals
This program is for health professionals who want to work more effectively in a therapeutic setting with survivors of child abuse and trauma. Training options are
- introductory 2 day training or
- week long residential intensive
Additional training is available for health professionals who are survivors of childhood trauma and have previously attended a healing week. It consists of a 2 day Trauma Informed Healing program plus a further 2 day advanced training for complex trauma and multi-diagnosis clients.
Heal For Life Peer Support Volunteer Training
A 1 year Certificate in Trauma Healing is available to learn the Heal For Life model and how to work as a peer support volunteer on residential Heal for Life healing weeks. The 1 year training program must be completed to qualify for these particular volunteering opportunities.
1 and 2 day workshops can be delivered on a variety of subjects. The most popular include:
- Self care in the workplace
- Workplace bullying
- Vicarious traumatisation
- Effective Parenting through divorce
- Foster carer training
